A eficácia terapêutica da fluvoxamina no tratamento da depressão foi claramente estabelecida em estudos clínicos controlados com placebo1,2, antidepressivos tricíclicos3-8, inibidores seletivos da recaptação da serotonina (ISRS) como a paroxetina9,10, fluoxetina11, sertralina12,13 e citalopram14 e com inibidor da recaptação da serotonina e da noradrenalina, como a venlafaxina15.
Além disso, também foi demonstrada a eficácia terapêutica de fluvoxamina no tratamento da depressão associada à ansiedade 16,17,18, da depressão recorrente19 e da depressão psicótica20,21. A eficácia terapêutica da fluvoxamina no tratamento do transtorno obsessivo compulsivo foi demonstrada em estudos clínicos controlados com o placebo22,23, com a clomipramina24,25,26 e com paroxetina e citalopram27.
A eficácia terapêutica da fluvoxamina em estudo clínico aberto28 e estudos clínicos controlados com placebo29,30.
